On August 30, 2016, the Apostille Convention will enter into force for the Republic of Chile.
Amendments to Income Tax Law
On February 8, 2016, Law No 20.899 was published in the Chilean Official Gazette, therefore, it entered into force. That law modifies Chilean Income Tax Law in order to simplify the income tax payment system and to improve other tax related provisions.
On March 23, 2016, Chilean Chamber of Deputies approved the Labor Reform bill, which seeks important amendments to the current regulation related to collective negotiation and unions.
Labor Reform bill still has to be approved by the Senate and the President. After such approvals, the new law would enter into force as of the date it is published in the Chilean Official Gazette.
Recycling Promotion Law
This bill seeks to formalize the recycling industry in Chile.
Recycling Promotion Law still has to be approved by the President. After said approval, the new law will enter into force as of the date it is published in the Chilean Official Gazette.
Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP)
On February 4, 2016, the Republic of Chile signed the Trans-Pacific Economic Partnership Agreement.
This agreement will enter into force once all the signing countries have ratified it within a 2- year term counted from signing date.
