New addition to the Zaragoza office of Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo Abogados

The Zaragoza office of Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo Abogados, headed by José Pajares, has added attorney José Rodriguez Parejo to its team. He will strengthen its fastest-growing areas, particularly Civil and Commercial Law, as Director of the Commercial Law Department, reinforcing José Pajares' leadership of the firm.

José Rodriguez Parejo holds a PhD in Commercial Law from the Department of Business Law at the University of Zaragoza, graduating with highest honors (summa cum laude). He also holds a Master's degree in Business Legal Advice and a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA).

Since being admitted to the Madrid Bar Association and the Royal and Illustrious Bar Association of Zaragoza in 1987, he has dedicated his professional career to various civil and commercial matters, including obligations and contracts, corporate and insolvency law, among others.

He has extensive experience advising publicly traded companies on all legal aspects, including corporate, commercial, dissolution and liquidation, civil, and administrative matters, as their external counsel. He has a long track record of handling civil, criminal, and administrative actions before the courts of these jurisdictions, defending the interests of individuals, companies, and other corporations, both public and private. He has also handled various arbitration proceedings based on law and equity.

For over thirty-nine years, he has advised various companies and individuals on commercial and corporate law, including serving on their boards of directors and acting as secretary to several of them. His experience also extends to civil law, including obligations and contracts, criminal law, and administrative law. He has provided legal representation in more than seventy insolvency, bankruptcy, and voluntary and involuntary insolvency proceedings.

He has provided legal representation and advice in more than 4,000 judicial proceedings, including civil, commercial, administrative, arbitration, and criminal cases.

He served as Head External Legal Counsel for the company Pabellón de Aragón 2008, S.A.U. during the Zaragoza International Exposition 2008, and for various public companies and foundations of the Government of Aragon.

He was Head External Legal Counsel for the Aragonese Rural Infrastructure Company, S.A. (SIRASA), from its establishment in 1997 until its acquisition by SARGA, a public infrastructure company of the Government of Aragon.

He was Head External Legal Counsel for the Foundation for Earth Observation (FADOT) from its establishment until its dissolution. This was a public company of the Government of Aragon.

He is a Legal Advisor to the Royal and Illustrious Bar Association of Zaragoza, advising the Association on all matters of a commercial and corporate nature, appointed by the former Dean, Mr. Ignacio Gutiérrez Arrudi.

He is a regular contributor to the School of Legal Practice at the University of Zaragoza, where he has served as Course Director and Speaker for the courses "Insolvency Law in Practice," "Economic Criminal Law in Practice," and "Labor and Insolvency Law in Practice."

He is also a contributor to the journal "Current Affairs in Law in Aragon."

To date, he is the founder and sole administrator of Rodriguez Parejo & Gascón Vallés, Abogados y Economistas, S.L.P., which will begin, in the coming months, the process of integrating its legal and commercial department into Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo Abogados.
